Life is a river

Life is a river joyous and free,

Full of adventure vivre and glee,

Rippling and crashing on rocks unbound,

Onward it journeys where dreams are found.

Winding through valleys to meet the seas,

Greeting every butterfly, the flower and bees,

Each curve on the banks, a new story it tells,

Each fjord every mountain, casting a new spell.

The arrow of time only moves forward,

Such is the river that only flows onwards,

Never to return to bygone curves and rocks,

Never the same villages, cities, people and docks.

So too in life our time is finite,

You live only once and we must do it right,

Dream big laugh a lot and never lose sight,

Always believe in yourself, never give up the fight.

Each person we come across shares their unique story,

Tales of many trials, survival, success and glory,

Just like the banks on the river, our days are never the same,

So cherish every moment and be grateful that it came.

Out wealth isn’t gold but being present in the moment,

Living life asleep is nothing but a torment,

This earth, you and me, are nothing short of a miracle,

So let’s not waste away this treasure by being small and fickle.
