A Maiden’s Walk of Truth

Spread the love

Two young maidens walking arm in arm,

They stroll beneath in an evening’s charm,

Soft whispers laced with lingering sighs,

One with sorrow brimming in her eyes.

Oh my heart is torn in two,

My sweet has left for someone new,

A fat pig with a hippo’s face,

Walks like an elephant, what a disgrace!

The other maiden wise and bold,

Smiled but wouldn’t be consoled,

She sighed and spoke with measured grace,

A knowing look upon her face.

So sorry dear for all your pain,

Hear me out though my words may strain,

You call her a pig you call her a bore

But maybe she’s got pizzazz and much much more.

Maybe she sparkles and maybe she glows,

Maybe she laughs where your temper shows,

Could be that your sweet sought a softer shore,

Maybe your honey-pot doesn’t entice him anymore!

Perhaps he craved a more buxom beauty,

A bosom to behold, who laughs like a cutie,

Holding her thin waist he looks inside,

And found a heart where love resides.

So my friend you must dry your tears

No need to stew in petty sneers,

Drink a hot toddy and quit the whining,

Go give your floors a good little shining!
