Incandescence

Spread the love
Oil on Canvas, The Coin Collector by Vilhelm Hammershøi, 1904.

The yellow soft glow spills quietly

Befriending the dark rain licked streets

A candle shivers in a quiet room

A whispering flame, a company

Shadows dancing with the light

Not competing but complementing

The soft glow warming not burning

Thriving gleefully not outshining

Together they breathe, inhale exhale

The wound and the balm, the grief and the grace

The night and the promise, abuzz with space

The pause and hum, in tender embrace

Sometimes, that is all we need

not brilliance and grind

Just incandescence – a soft gentle presence

For our days to shine
