Healing isn’t always bright,

Haunted dreams, screams in the night,

Cold night sweats thick is the air,

Free falling with no one there,

Sometimes you sit in the pouring rain,

eyes shut tight and pain just wanes.

Growth ain’t that easy, no Sir, that’s for sure

Feeling like you’re stuck, unsure impure,

Great things take time they always say,

But wading through bog wears you away,

When laying in there feels like a release

But climbing out the dark pit brings inner peace

Oh it must be so nice to be so petty,

Play cat and mouse games and act all sweaty,

Laugh at other’s wounds find joy in their pain,

Blame all the world and dodge the shame.

Oh how lovely to tear folks down,

Mock them loud, make them the clown,

So much fun to wreck their plans,

Just to feel like you’ve won and you’re the man!

Oh how cathartic to play the victim card

Others’ pain is nothing but yours is oh so hard!

Living in denial, avoiding the truth,

Blaming someone for snatching your love,

when in fact they chose to walk away from you.

Oh what a lovely life to sit idle and sip coffee

Engage in gossip, spreading rumors and be all cocky,

Lurking on the side lines and spying for fun,

oh it must be so nice to be worth none.

No Sir, that’s not my place to stay,

No matter how pretty it seems today,

The real fun’s in owning the ride,

Shouting your truth with fearless pride.

Finding your calling, leaping so high,

Through sweat and struggle, still touching the sky,

The pain, the fight, the strength, the zeal,

The freedom to be yourself and real.
