Swords Break, Words Endure

Spread the love
Minerva as Wisdom Conquering Sedition, Oil on Canvas by Peter Paul Rubens. Circa 1634, Style – Baroque

The message is clear,
The word is here,
It carves its mark,
On every page, like a seer.

Where the sword cannot reach,
Words will penetrate.
What the weapon can’t teach,
The word will educate.

The sword terrorizes, maims, and kills.
The word inspires, provokes, and thrills.
The sword leaves scars upon the skin,
The word engraves its truth within.

The sword is oppression,
The word? Liberation.
Passed down through time,
A sacred veneration.

The sword is mighty,
It can banish the foe when fought.
But the word is mightier,
It uproots the very thought.

The word reveals what the sword conceals.
The sword impales, while the word appeals.
The sword strikes when called to a noble deed,
But the word is the spark that compels it to bleed.

Mark my words, oh swordsman,
For you will kill but once.
But silence me—
And I’ll rise, again and again, to hunt.
